What Is Transponder Key Replacement?
A transponder key looks like a regular car key, but its head holds a small chip that communicates with your vehicle's immobilizer. When you turn the key, the car checks for that chip, and if it doesn't get the right signal, the engine won't start, even if the blade turns the ignition. Transponder key replacement means cutting a new blade to match your ignition and doors and then programming the chip so your vehicle accepts it. CS Lock and Key cuts and programs transponder keys for a wide range of vehicles, and we're affiliated with the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF).
